Research project RetroFly
Project RetroFly aims to revolutionize circular economy practices by enabling the repurposing of existing infrastructure for the reproduction of black soldier fly larvae. The project will develop and pilot a production system that includes a fully automated egg-harvesting device and a software solution to monitor and control the biological production process. By utilizing vacant greenhouses and industrial facilities, RetroFly reduces investment costs for small- and medium-sized enterprises, making insect farming more accessible and fostering a sustainable circular economy.
